Mechanism of Early Flowering in a Landrace Naked Barley eam8.l Mutant

چکیده

The EARLY MATURITY 8 (EAM8) gene of barley is homologous to the FLOWERING 3 (ELF3) in Arabidopsis, as loss-of-function mutations this circadian clock promote rapid flowering. A previous study demonstrated that early flowering phenotype a hulless barley, Lalu, was due allele eam8.l carrying an alternative splicing mutation intron led retention. In present study, we verified encoded truncated protein. Although EAM8 expressed at higher level Lalu than other lines with longer growth period, it did not negatively regulate time. This result further proved protein nonfunctional regulating barley. plants strongly dependent on biosynthesis gibberellin (GA). stopped suppression GA biosynthesis, and accumulated excessive GA, especially leaves. achieved through upregulated expression genes pathway, including GA20ox2, LFY1, SOC1, PAP2, FPF3. also abolished inhibition LOCUS T-like (FT1) night. During night, levels FT1 were those during day Lalu. However, GA-dependent pathway mechanism are two independent pathways Alleles EAM8, therefore, important breeding value which probably effective many day-length-sensitive crop well; thus, they could be used tune adaptation different geographic regions climatic conditions, critical issue times global warming.

EARLY FLOWERING3 Regulates Flowering in Spring Barley by Mediating Gibberellin Production and FLOWERING LOCUS T Expression.

EARLY FLOWERING3 (ELF3) is a circadian clock gene that contributes to photoperiod-dependent flowering in plants, with loss-of-function mutants in barley (Hordeum vulgare), legumes, and Arabidopsis thaliana flowering early under noninductive short-day (SD) photoperiods. The barley elf3 mutant displays increased expression of FLOWERING LOCUS T1 (FT1); however, it remains unclear whether this is t...

Population and multilocus isozyme structures in a barley landrace

Isozyme data were used to assess genetic diversity within and among a subdivided population of the salt-tolerant Batini barley landrace. Population diversity and its components were estimated on the basis of 12 isozymes scored on 450 single plants representing seven subpopulations. Two principal components, based on mean gene diversity, Shannon’s diversity index, percentage polymorphic loci, ge...

In order to identify QTLs controlling agronomically traits, landrace Tarom and rice Tarom mutant were crossed. SSR, ISSR, iPBS and IRAP markers were amplified in 250 F2 individuals to prepare the linkage map. Number of tillers, 100 grain weight, number of filled grains, number of unfilled grains, plant height, panicle length, number of branches, stem diameter, grain length, grain width, grain s...

The Study of SOS Genes Expression in Mutant Barley Root under Salt Stress

Soil salinity is one of the most critical factors reducing crop yield. SOS signaling is one of the significant pathways that regulate ion homeostasis and it has the important role in mechanism of plant resistance to environmental stresses such as salt stress. Roots are the first organ of plants exposed to salt, so the role of genes involved in this pathway and their relation to salt tolerance w...

A T.E.M INVESTIGATION OF THE MECHANISM OF EARLY STAGE ORDERING IN THE INTERMETTALIC COMPOUND PT2FECU

Abstract: The microstructural features of the early stage of ordering of the intermetallic compound Pt2FeCu have been examined using optical and transmission electron microscopy in conjunction with X-ray diffraction technique. It was found that the compound has similar morphological alteration to that of FePt in which the ordering cannot be suppressed by rapid quenching. The early stage of ...
